Feel free to call me dumb or stupid, lesson learned. So now I'm making this thread as a way to help others if they're lost and looking for an answer. I even made a Visio like diagram of my wired network setup! Its been 4 hours now and usually it starts having issues within minutes. Inadvertently I moved the MOCA box about a few feet away from my modem. I was about to make this thread today asking for help, hooked up everything with MOCA boxes in to gather data and post it here. I didn't want to replace the cabling, as I didn't think it was the issue. I did talk to comcast, they knew what the Moca boxes were, they said it shouldn't be the problem. I checked lots of threads which pointed me in several directions. QOS=1.1 CM-VER=3.0 Sat Nov 16 15:22:14 2019Critical (3)Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out CM. These messages, Unicast Maintenance Ranging attempted - No response - Retries exhausted CM (Not putting my MAC in there) and this one. I was seeing weird voltage levels in my modem, lots of correctable and uncorrectable errors. Not much difference with these early changes I made. I checked what type of coax as well, R6, and they seemed recent. I replace splitters, try other cables where I can. I'm looking around, and start seeing things about MOCA adapters, I removed them for a bit, see some improvement, but I think part of it was a splitter that wasn't needed. This is very bad because I work from home sometimes and this could be very bad if I'm working on a major issue. I have an Archer C5 TP link router, wireless is good to go.įast forward to November, my modem decides to start rebooting on its own. Seeing almost gigabit throughput between sever and desktop. Got a couple of Motorola adapters, hooked them up. It was at this time I discovered MoCA adapters. I wanted to have a steam link, and a home server somewhere where they could be wired, but not all cluttered together with cords. The previous owners had five spots for Direct TV so there were coax ports everywhere. I have my ARRIS surfboard SB 6183 or SB6183 modem with.Comcast. They need space! Or it just causes problems. Long story short: Don't put your MOCA adapter right next to your modem.
